The emblematic architectural complex of the Plaza de España in Seville served to recreate Naboo in a scene with Nathalie Portman and Ewan McGregor in Star Wars 2 Attack of the Clones.
Likewise, in 2012, The Dictator, by Sacha Baron Cohen, in which he satirized the life of a satrap from an undetermined country in North Africa was filmed in Seville too. In this case they introduced some 3D arabizing vaults and the Plaza became an arabic palace.
The square, located in the María Luisa Park and designed by Aníbal Sánchez, was built between 1914 and 1929. It has a surface of 50,000 m2, an elliptical shape and an endless number of corridors, leaks and stairs inside offer a neverending choice of angles and spots for filming spectacular scenes.
